Aanbeveling ITU-R M.2160 (november 2023) maakt integrated sensing and communication tot een officieel gebruiksscenario van 6G: het netwerk meet de wereld, niet alleen jouw pakketjes.

In §3 van Recommendation ITU-R M.2160-0 (november 2023), onder het gebruiksscenario Integrated Sensing and Communication, somt de ITU typische use cases op: navigatiehulp, activity detection and movement tracking (houding/gebaar, val, voertuig/voetganger), milieumonitoring, en sensing-data voor AI, XR en digital twins. Dat is een ontwerpvisie, geen uitgerolde meetplicht op elke mast.
