Battlefield-neuro

Hardware-doel: read from and write to 16 independent channels within a 16mm³ volume of neural tissue within 50ms. Emondi (mei 2019): in the future they might put on a headset containing a neural interface, use the technology however it's needed, then put the tool aside when the mission is complete. Geselecteerde labs in 2019: Battelle, CMU, JHU APL, PARC, Rice, Teledyne.

N3: UAV-control, cyber defense, multitask-missies

«Such interfaces would be enabling technology for diverse national security applications such as control of unmanned aerial vehicles and active cyber defense systems or teaming with computer systems to successfully multitask during complex military missions.»

N3-hardware: 16 kanalen / 16mm³ / 50ms

«The envisioned N 3 technology breaks through the limitations of existing technology by delivering an integrated device that does not require surgical implantation, but has the precision to read from and write to 16 independent channels within a 16mm 3 volume of neural tissue within 50ms.»

«Just as service members put on protective and tactical gear in preparation for a mission, in the future they might put on a headset containing a neural interface, use the technology however it's needed, then put the tool aside when the mission is complete.»

«DARPA is preparing for a future in which a combination of unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, and cyber operations may cause conflicts to play out on timelines that are too short for humans to effectively manage with current technology alone»

TNT: marksmanship, crypto, target discrimination

Het DARPA TNT-programma (Targeted Neuroplasticity Training) claimt toepasbaarheid op defense-relevante skills — taal, marksmanship, cryptografie, target discrimination, intelligence analysis — via non-invasieve neurotechnologie + training, om DoD-opleidingen korter/goedkoper te maken.

«If successful, TNT technology would apply to a wide range of defense-relevant needs, including foreign language learning, marksmanship, cryptography, target discrimination, and intelligence analysis, improving outcomes while reducing the cost and duration of the Defense Department’s extensive training regimen.»
